Weekend
So, the weekend is over and now it's Monday. I'm on the phone right now. On hold. I'm finally booking my ticket to Quebec for the French Immersion program I'm going to. It's been the summer of changing my mind a million billion times because of this job search. Ah yes, the job search, the monster which has developed a life of its own. The monster which has become my summer. I'm just going to keep going hard core with it until I leave on June 3rd, and if nothing comes of it, then I'm just going to enjoy myself in Quebec and then Kyla and I will travel and go on an Anne of Green Gables and New York pilgramage - or something like that. (That plan too which will change a couple times) What ever happens, if I stay, Kyla gets dibs on where we go priorities because, lets face it, I shattered her road trip illusion.
Ahh French, what will that mean in the big picture? What will all of this blood sweat and tears mean? Maybe something, maybe absolutely nothing. Just a good dose of James chapter one character building. Or maybe just the ability to talk about vegetables in yet another language.
The weekend went ok. I tried planning parties/get togethers again. I suck at doing them. I took a bit of a break as the girl who plans everyone's social lives for almost 8 months. And now that I'm trying to create parties etc... again, they just don't work. I've lost the "biggybossy" touch. Alas, it is nice to take the passanger seat. Maybe I'll just stay there.
Had a Kareoke party on Friday. It consisted of Joy, Chris, Tanya, and I. I called at least 20 people. Alas, it was still super fun. And we had a huge electrical storm and the power went out so we didn't get to Kareoke super long, but then we played cards by candle light. But it's hard to tell the difference between green and blue on the Dutch Blitz cards when it's dark. I'm not that great at multitasking, so my dutch blitz skills do lack. The one time that I do let men feel manly and superior is when I play cards or when I play any kinds of sports. I definately don't have to try to let them win.
Saturday was a very nothing sort of day where I had the pretense of being very productive all day long, but never really was. Saturday night I hung out with Kyla, Reina and Reina's friend from Edmonton. In the end I went hot tubbing in Martensville and then spent the night.
The only really significant thing we did that night was get the pronunciation of Herbs settled. Reina decided that Herb (with the "h" sound) was for the man and Herb (with out the "h" sound) was for the plants. Then Kyla thought it would be cool to have a store called "Herb's Herbs".
Then Sunday was church and church lunch. In the afternoon I napped, cleaned up, and called Dad for father's day. Mom forgot it was father's day which is really funny seeing heaven and earth would be guilted if we dared forget mother's day. So we had a good laugh about that. I went for a long walk by the river with Tanya and her sister Rachel and her stinken cute and funny little boy.
I was able to talk to Jeremy yet last night which was good. He sounded super tired. So yeah, I won't be seeing him for a month and a half and after that neither of us know where we'll be. Excellent. One more typical Kendra relationship. it's no one's fault, it's just how it goes.
So that's it for me.
